Members who ride a 1200 GSA

I am a widower living in Durbanville. Been riding for 40+ years. 4 adult daughters. Hobbies are target shooting and biking.

Hi I am Johan, but a lot of people call me Rassie. I am 58 years young.

I am married for nearly 35 years and have one son, who is 32 years old and lives in Port Elizabeth.  I had a few bikes when I was younger, but since the year 2000, when we moved to Cape Town,  I haven't had a bike.

I only bought the Adventure about a year ago.  So I would call myself a beginner.  My wife likes to join me on the bike, but I have to ride more to get more self confident.

I would like to join you guys for runs and breakaway trips.

Thanks so much.

Kind regards

Johan Erasmus

Hi I am Leon

Self Employed, 51 years old, married and have 3 children. I play guitar and sing around campfires. Enjoy camping and touring.

Not experienced biker. I only started riding 8 years ago in which I did not do more than 12000kms. Enjoy gravel but still scared. I want to spend more time on the bike and hopefully get rid of my fears.

I have done the level 1 training with John Carr.

Regards

Commute by bike on most days, and really enjoy breakaway rides from time to time.

Member fo the Pretoria BMW club. Attended the last ride of 2011 to Wellington. Awesome ride, beautiful venue and great meeting so many members of the Cape BMW MCC. Hopefully can do so again in the near future.

We generally enjoy being outdoors exploring the more remote and lesser known roads and trails (by bike, 4x4 or on foot trail running or hiking). We do regular outrides on our own or with riding buddies and also arrange at least 4 weekend and longer trips during the year. We are very fond of the Great Karoo region and have many contacts here for trails and accommodation.
I'm back to biking after 30 years. This time however it is with respect and restraint as well as a pillion. We enjoy rediscovering the hidden valleys only reachable by gravel roads. It is the ride to these valleys that is becoming addictive.
